Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked “IK 46 0971 / Model SLR 106FR / Cal 5.56×45 / Made in Bulgaria” and “arsenal LAS VEGAS, NEV. U.S.A.”. The left side of the dust cover is marked “0971”. The bolt and bolt carrier are marked “0971”.

Barrel Length: 16.25” threaded with 74 style muzzle break.

Sights / Optics:  The front sight is an adjustable pin protected by wings. The rear sight is a “U” tangent notch leaf sight marked from “1 – 8” and “D” for the battle position.  

Stock Configuration & Condition:  The furniture is a three piece synthetic set with a serrated vented hand guards, checkered semi pistol grip, and folding buttstock. The buttstock has a trapdoor for the included cleaning kit. There is little to no wear. There are light scratches throughout. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 12.5” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The stock rates in about Excellent overall condition.

Magazine Quantity and Condition: One 30rd magazine in about Excellent condition.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition:  The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. There is fouling in the grooves. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9 out of 10.  

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows little to no wear. There is light operational wear. There are a few light scratches. The screw heads are sharp and the pins are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition. 

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with one magazine, cleaning kit, cleaning rod, canvas sling, and bayonet. 

Our Assessment: The Arsenal AD SLR-106FR is one of the most desirable factory-imported AK-pattern rifles chambered in 5.56×45mm NATO. Built in Bulgaria and imported through Arsenal Inc., the 106FR combines authentic military-style AK construction with a side-folding stock, threaded muzzle, and modern 5.56 NATO chambering. These rifles are highly regarded for their quality manufacturing, reliability, and relative scarcity compared to more common 7.62×39 AK variants.

This example presents in Excellent overall condition and retains matching numbered major components, including the bolt, bolt carrier, and dust cover. The synthetic furniture and folding stock remain in Excellent condition with only minimal handling marks and no structural issues. The bore is bright with sharp rifling, no visible erosion, and only light fouling present, earning a strong 9/10 rating. The rifle retains approximately 98% of its original finish with only minor operational wear and light cosmetic marks visible. Included are the original cleaning kit, cleaning rod, canvas sling, bayonet, and a 30-round magazine, making this a particularly complete package. Altogether, this SLR-106FR represents an outstanding example of one of the finest factory-imported 5.56 AK rifles available to collectors and shooters.
