Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “152975 / WALTHER / P5 COMPACT”. The left side of the frame is marked “152975”. The right side of the slide is marked “INTERARMS ALEXANDRIA/VA. / MADE IN GERMANY”. The right side of the frame “KC”. The front of the barrel “WALTHER 9mmx19 52975”

Barrel Length: 3”. 

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a white dotted blade machined into the slide. The rear sight is a windage adjustable square notch sight with a white aiming reference dovetailed to the slide. The top of the slide is serrated. 

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are a two piece checkered polymer screw set to the frame. The front strap is serrated and the rear checkered. The grips show no notable marks or marrs. There are no chips or cracks. Overall the grips are in Excellent+-Like New condition.       

Type of Finish: Blued. 

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is mirror bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. The feed ramp is smooth and shiny. The edges of the grooves show some very minor fouling. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9.75/10.  

Overall Condition: This pistol retains 99% of its original finish. There is some very minor rub wear present from the trigger bar and the de-cocker/slide release. The markings are clear and the screw heads sharp. Overall the pistol is in Excellent+ condition. 

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements. 

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol includes two magazines in Excellent+ condition, serialized box, and cleaning jag. 

Our Assessment: This Walther P5 Compact, manufactured in 1992, is a compact 9mm pistol featuring a 3-inch barrel and detachable 8-round magazines. Developed as a shortened version of the full-size P5, the P5 Compact retained the excellent ergonomics and refined engineering of its predecessor while offering improved concealability. The pistol incorporates Walther’s distinctive combination de-cocker and slide release lever mounted on the left side of the frame, allowing the hammer to be safely lowered while also serving as the slide stop. Chambered in 9mm and built with the quality expected from German-made Walthers of the era, the P5 Compact remains one of the more desirable and collectible double-action pistols of the late 20th century.

This example is fitted with checkered polymer grips and white dot sights, including a windage-adjustable rear sight that allows the shooter to fine-tune the point of impact. One of the most appreciated characteristics of the P5 Compact is its exceptionally refined trigger system, with many enthusiasts noting that the double-action pull is lighter and smoother than that found on the standard full-size P5, while the single-action break is crisp and predictable.
