Our Assessment: United States Fire-Arms Manufacturing Company was founded in Hartford, Connecticut in 1995 with a singular and ambitious mission: to build the most faithful, highest-quality reproductions of the Colt Single Action Army ever offered to the American market. Working from original Colt tooling and producing their revolvers in the very city where the originals were born, USFA earned a devoted following among serious SAA collectors who demanded American craftsmanship, correct geometry, and period-accurate details that Italian imports simply could not replicate. Tragically, the company ceased operations in 2011, making every USFA revolver a finite commodity from a manufacturer that will never produce another — a fact that has steadily driven collector interest and values upward in the years since.
This example, produced in approximately 2009 during USFA’s final years of operation, presents in outstanding Excellent condition retaining approximately 97% of its deep blue finish with only minor scratches and faint edge thinning to note — a near-pristine example of what many consider the finest American-made SAA reproduction ever offered. The bore is bright, the action is correct, and the period-accurate patent markings on the frame capture exactly the detail-oriented authenticity that made USFA revolvers so coveted. With production now permanently closed, examples in this condition represent a closing window for collectors who understand that the best time to acquire a USFA was yesterday — and the second best time is now. – L.S.
