Our Assessment: This Springfield Armory M1A Scout Squad is a patriotic interpretation of one of America’s most iconic rifle platforms. Chambered in .308 Winchester, the M1A Scout combines the proven M14 action with a handier overall package, featuring an 18-inch barrel that offers an excellent balance between maneuverability and ballistic performance. Built on the legendary M14 design, the M1A has earned a reputation for reliability, excellent iron sights, and impressive practical accuracy. This special Red, White, and Blue edition elevates the traditional Scout configuration with a distinctive American flag motif that makes it unlike any standard production rifle.
This example is fitted with a Leupold VX-Freedom AR 3-9×40 mounted via a high-quality Sadlak Industries Scope Mount, providing a rugged optics platform for the M1A. Both the stock and scope have been custom painted to resemble American flags, creating a striking patriotic appearance that complements the rifle’s military heritage. The gun was sold new with the American Flag coloring and the original owner added the factory finish limited run American Flag/NRA collaboration scope from Leupold. The package also includes a 20-round magazine, completing a setup that is equally suited for the range or display. Combining the timeless appeal of the M1A Scout with a bold red, white, and blue theme, this is an exceptionally unique rifle that proudly celebrates both the M14’s legacy and its American roots.
