The left side of the receiver is marked “STEYR – DAIMLER – PUC_A.G.,ST_R” and date codes. The right side of the receiver and barrel shank are marked with the serial number. The right side of the barrel is marked “ON M3170 STLF3”.

Sights / Optics: There are no irons installed. The installed scope is Burris 2x-7x Compact. The sight picture is clear. The scope is attached on a Leupold base.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece checkered walnut with capped semi pistol grip, raised comb with European-style cheekpiece, sling studs front and rear, and a rubber buttpad. There are a few light scratches and compression marks throughout. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 14? from the fronts of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock rates in about Fine overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. There is light fouling in the grooves. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows handling and storage wear. There are light scratches throughout. There is light action wear. The screw heads range from sharp to tool marked with strong slots. The markings are generally clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Steyr Mannlicher-Schoenauer MCA is a refined Austrian sporting rifle built around the famous Mannlicher-Schoenauer action, known for its smooth bolt operation, rotary magazine system, and high-quality European sporting-rifle construction. The Model MCA, or Monte Carlo All-Purpose, represented a later commercial sporting configuration with updated stock styling while retaining the distinctive internal rotary magazine associated with the Mannlicher-Schoenauer design. This 1963 example is chambered in .30-06 Springfield and is fitted with a 20” barrel, blued finish, Burris 2-7x Compact scope on a Leupold base, and a checkered walnut stock with capped semi-pistol grip, raised comb, European-style cheekpiece, sling studs, and rubber buttpad.
This Steyr MCA is in Fine condition overall, retaining about 98% of its original blued finish with light handling and storage wear, light scratches, and light action wear. The walnut stock also rates in Fine condition, showing only a few light scratches and compression marks with no chips or cracks. The bore is bright with sharp rifling, no erosion, and light fouling in the grooves, rating 9 out of 10 in this writer’s opinion.
