Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “CAL. 30-06 Sprg. MADE IN FINLAND”, along with a proof mark. The right side of the barrel is marked with Beretta’s 2-line warning & address. The left side of the receiver is marked “SAKO 85 M”, along with the serial number and a proof mark.

Sights / Optics: There are no provisions for iron sights. The top of the receiver is grooved for optics.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece lightweight, weather-resistant synthetic stock, finished in Sako’s Soft Touch coating. The stock features a semi-pistol grip with textured gray rubber grip panels and right handed palm swell, a fluted monte carlo comb with cheekpiece, black rubber buttpad, a forend with textured gray grip panels, and sling studs front and rear. The LOP measures 13 1/2″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock shows minor storage wear, with only the most minor of superficial imperfections from being stored in its factory box. The soft touch rubberized finish is intact. The stock fits tightly to the barreled action, with no play. The barrel is free-floating. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the stock rates in Excellent condition.
Magazine Quantity & Condition: 1x 5rd factory magazine, in Excellent condition. The magazine latch is a bit tight.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows no notable wear. The finish is intact throughout. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. The trigger is user-adjustable from 2-4 pounds, and has a crisp and clean break. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with its original serial number matching box, owner’s manual/paperwork, torx wrench, sling rings, and the magazine as mentioned above.

The Finnlight variant was designed as a lightweight, weather-resistant hunting rifle, pairing stainless metalwork with a synthetic Soft Touch stock for hard field use. This Sako 85M Finnlight is chambered in .30-06 Springfield, one of the most versatile and proven big-game cartridges in the world, well suited for deer, elk, black bear, and general North American hunting. This example features a 22″ stainless fluted barrel, grooved receiver for optics, detachable 5-round factory magazine, lightweight synthetic stock with gray grip panels and right-hand palm swell, free-floating barrel, and user-adjustable trigger. The Finnish Sako manufacture, lightweight Finnlight configuration, stainless construction, excellent bore, and classic .30-06 chambering should appeal to hunters looking for a premium, practical, all-weather field rifle.
This rifle rates in Excellent overall condition, retaining about 99% of its original stainless finish with no notable metal wear. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no erosion, rating 10/10 in this writer’s opinion. The synthetic Soft Touch stock also rates in Excellent condition, showing only minor storage wear and very small superficial imperfections from box storage, while retaining its intact rubberized finish, tight fit to the barreled action, free-floating barrel, and no chips or cracks. The markings are clear and legible, the screw heads are sharp, and the action, safety, and crisp user-adjustable trigger function correctly. The included 5-round factory magazine rates in Excellent condition, though the magazine latch is a bit tight.
