Our Assessment: The Franchi LAW-12 is one of the most recognizable tactical shotguns of the late Cold War era, developed in Italy as a semi-automatic combat shotgun sharing styling cues with the famous SPAS-12. Designed for military, law enforcement, and defensive applications, the LAW-12 earned a reputation for reliability, rugged construction, and distinctive appearance. Chambered for 2¾-inch 12 gauge shells and equipped with a folding stock, the LAW-12 remains a highly sought-after firearm among collectors of military and tactical shotguns.
This example presents as a project or restoration candidate due to missing trigger pack pins that currently prevent normal operation. The synthetic furniture and folding stock remain in Fine condition with only minor handling wear and no structural damage. The bore is bright with no visible erosion and only light fouling present, earning a solid 8/10 rating. The shotgun retains approximately 97% of its original finish with only light scratches, minor surface rust, and limited handling wear visible throughout. However, the trigger pack pins are absent, preventing the shotgun from functioning correctly in its current configuration. Despite this issue, the LAW-12 remains highly desirable due to its relative scarcity, tactical configuration, and strong cosmetic condition.
