Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade pinned into a serrated base banded around the barrel. The rear sight is a 2 piece flip U-notch ranged to 100-200 meters dovetailed to the barrel. The top of the receiver is grooved for a scope. This rifle includes Eaw claw mounts and rings.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece wood stock, with a semi-pistol grip, straight comb with cheek piece, serrated synthetic buttplate, and sling rings front and rear. There is light handling wear. There are scratches and compression marks throughout. There are chipped peaks in the checkering. There are no cracks. The LOP measures 13.5″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. Overall, the stock rates in about Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. There is fouling in the grooves. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 8 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains 97% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows handling and storage wear. There is operation wear. There are scratches and thinning throughout. There is thinning on the muzzle. There is light surface rust forming on the barrel and bolt. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are tooled with serviceable slots. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The Zbrojovka Brno Model 21H is widely regarded as one of the finest commercial sporting Mauser rifles produced in the postwar era. Built in Czechoslovakia and chambered in the classic 7×57mm Mauser, the Model 21H combined elegant European styling with exceptional machining and a refined Mauser action. These rifles developed a reputation for accuracy, smooth operation, and high-quality craftsmanship, making them highly sought after by hunters and collectors alike.
This 1951-produced example presents in Very Good overall condition and retains many desirable features. The walnut stock remains in Very Good condition with attractive checkering, a classic cheekpiece, and only moderate handling wear. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no visible erosion, earning a strong 8/10 rating. The rifle retains approximately 97% of its original finish, showing only light thinning, scattered handling marks, and minor surface oxidation on the barrel and bolt. Particularly desirable are the included EAW claw mounts and rings, a premium European mounting system that adds both utility and collector appeal. The action functions correctly, and the rifle remains an excellent example of one of Brno’s most respected sporting rifles.
