Sights / Optics: The front sight is a 0.062 National Match blade set between two protective wings. The rear sight is a fully adjustable aperture sight set between two protective wings. This rifle has also been mounted with a Springfield scope mount for the mounting of optics.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock set includes an M14 pattern walnut stock with selector cut, two sling swivels and hinged metal butt plate with storage compartment holding a cleaning kit. The handguard is a brown synthetic handguard. The length of pull is 13.25″. The wood has been sanded and refinished and shows minor handling with some lines and compressions. There are no chips or cracks. The butt plate functions correctly and shows no notable marks or marrs. Overall the stock is in about Excellent condition. The fiber handguard shows some minor rub marks and handling. Overall the upper handguard is in Very Good+-Excellent condition.
Magazine Quantity & Condition: This rifle includes four total magazines. Two 20 round magazines still sealed in their packaging. There is one 20 round magazine in Good condition. There is also one 10 round magazine in excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. The feed ramps are smooth showing some fouling. The edges of the grooves show fouling. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9.5/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. The friction surfaces of the bolt and receiver show very minor rub wear. The markings are clear and the screw heads are sharp. The barrel shows some minor scattered marks. The gas block shows finish loss and minor rub wear. The muzzle device shows some barely visible surface rust forming in the recesses. The front sight is backwards and is sitting at about the 1 o’clock position instead of 12 o’clock. Overall this rifle is in about Very Good+ condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: This Springfield Armory M1A was manufactured in May 2002 and is chambered in .308 Winchester with a 22-inch barrel, traditional M14-pattern iron sights, and a classic military-style stock featuring the selector cut found on U.S. service rifles. Built on the legendary M14 design, the M1A remains one of the most respected full-power semi-automatic rifles available, prized for its excellent iron sights, smooth shooting characteristics, and proven reliability. This example is additionally equipped with a Springfield Armory scope mount, allowing the rifle to be configured for optic use while retaining its traditional military appearance.
Included with the rifle is an impressive collection of accessories that greatly enhances its appeal.
