Markings: The left side of the dust cover is marked “1661”. The left side of the receiver is marked “KG 44 1661”, “Model SLR 105 A1R / Cal 5.45×39 / Made in Bulgaria”. The bolt and bolt carrier is marked “1661”.

Barrel Length: 16.25”, 17.5″ with muzzle. 

Sights / Optics: The front sight is an adjustable post. The rear sight is an “U” notch marked 1-10 with “n” for the battle position. The left side of the receiver has a scope rail.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The four piece wood handguard, fixed buttstock and pistol grip is checkered wood. There is little to no wear. There are a couple of faint scratches. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 12.75” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttstock. The stock rates in about Excellent overall condition.

Magazine Quantity & Condition: This rifle comes with two 30rd magazines.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion in the bore. There is light fouling in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9 out of 10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows little to no wear. There is faint operation wear. There is scratching on the receiver. The screw heads are sharp and the pins are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Arsenal AD SLR-105-A1R is one of the most desirable factory-imported Bulgarian AK-74 pattern rifles available on the American market. Imported during a limited production period, the SLR-105 series brought authentic Bulgarian military-pattern construction, chrome-lined barrels, and proper 5.45×39 chambering to U.S. shooters. Built around the classic Kalashnikov long-stroke piston system, these rifles are widely regarded as some of the finest factory AK-74 variants imported into the United States and have become increasingly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts.

This example presents in excellent overall condition and retains matching serialized bolt, bolt carrier, dust cover, and receiver components. The wood furniture remains in excellent condition with only minimal handling marks and no structural issues. The bore is bright with sharp rifling, light fouling, and no visible erosion, earning a strong 9/10 rating. The rifle retains nearly all of its original finish with only minor operational wear and light cosmetic marks present. Included are two magazines and a canvas sling, completing an attractive package. Altogether, this Bulgarian SLR-105-A1R represents a highly desirable factory AK-74 with matching numbered components and excellent overall condition.
