Sights / Optics: The front sight is an adjustable post with a flip up night sight. The rear sight is an adjustable tangent “u” notch .
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a three piece with wooden vented forend, metal side folding stock, and serrated synthetic semi pistol grip. There is little to no wear. There are a couple of light compression marks and light scratches. The LOP measures 12.5” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock rates in about Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. There is fouling in the grooves. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows little to no handling and operation wear. There are a few light scratches throughout. The screw heads are sharp and the rivets are unmarred. The markings are clear. This rifle rates in about Very Good Plus overall condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Childers Guns CGY receiver build assembled from a Yugoslavian-pattern M70 parts kit represents a modern semi-automatic interpretation of the rugged Zastava M70 rifle family. Built around a stamped AK-pattern receiver with a long-stroke gas piston system, the M70 differs from standard AKM rifles through features such as its heavier construction, flip-up night sights, and distinctive furniture arrangements. Chambered in 7.62×39mm, the rifle utilizes one of the most proven military cartridges of the Cold War era, known for reliable performance and widespread availability.
This example presents in very good plus overall condition, retaining a high percentage of its finish with only light handling and operational wear visible. The rifle features a front sight post with integrated flip-up night sight and a tangent U-notch rear sight, consistent with M70-pattern rifles. The wood handguards remain in very good condition with only minor marks, and the metal side-folding stock provides the compact handling characteristics associated with Yugoslavian-pattern AK variants. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and only light fouling present, and the action functions correctly. Included are both leather and canvas slings, complementing the rifle’s military-style configuration.
