Our Assessment: This Springfield Armory M1A National Match was manufactured in September 1999 and represents a highly refined precision-oriented version of the classic M14-pattern rifle. Built as a MA9102 National Match model, these rifles were designed to deliver enhanced accuracy and improved consistency for competitive and long-range shooting. The M1A platform itself has long been respected for combining the power of the 7.62 NATO cartridge with the fast follow-up capability of a semi-automatic action, and National Match variants are among the most sought-after configurations for serious shooters.
This example is mounted in a JAE-100 Stock chassis system, widely regarded as one of the finest chassis stocks ever produced for the M1A platform. The JAE stock dramatically improves rigidity and bedding stability while also offering excellent ergonomics, adjustable fitment, and modern accessory mounting capability. Many enthusiasts consider the JAE system one of the ultimate upgrades for the M1A due to its ability to significantly enhance accuracy potential while maintaining the rifle’s balance and shootability. The rifle is further equipped with a Leupold Mark 4 8.5-25×50 precision optic, providing extensive magnification and repeatable adjustments ideal for long-range target work.
Additional accessories include a GG&G bipod for stable supported shooting and an Accu-Shot monopod mounted at the rear, allowing precise elevation adjustments when shooting from prone or bench positions. Altogether, this is a very serious precision M1A setup that combines classic battle rifle heritage with modern chassis technology and long-range shooting capability.
