Sights/Optics: The front sight is a Novak metal blade with a white dot, dove-tailed to the slide. The rear sight is a Novak square notch with white dots, dovetailed to the slide.
Markings: The right side of the frame is marked with “COLT’S PT. F. A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A.” and the serial number. This pistol is mostly covered with an elaborate variation of black leaf scroll engraving designed by Ray Armand Jr.
Stock Configuration and Condition: The grips are a two piece fancy dark walnut with scroll work engraving around “COLT”. There are minor handling scuffs. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is minor fouling in the grooves. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates a 9.5/10.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its finish. The barrel has some very minor operational wear. The screws are sharp with light tooling. Overall, this pistol rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Built on a Series 70-pattern 1911, the pistol retains the classic trigger feel and internal configuration favored by enthusiasts who appreciate traditional Government Model construction. Chambered in .45 ACP, the cartridge developed alongside John Moses Browning’s original M1911 design, this pistol continues the legacy of one of America’s most iconic handgun combinations. The extensive engraving work designed by Ray Armand Jr., one of the most respected names in modern American firearms engraving, elevates the pistol beyond a standard production Government Model into the realm of commemorative and presentation-grade Colts.
This 2016 example remains in excellent condition with virtually complete original finish retention and only the faintest evidence of operational handling at the barrel. The deep blued surfaces are richly adorned with flowing black leaf scroll engraving across nearly the entirety of the pistol, complemented by finely detailed walnut grips featuring matching scroll motifs surrounding the Colt name. Novak combat sights provide a subtle modern enhancement while maintaining the pistol’s elegant profile.
