Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked “RUGER PRECISION NEWPORT-NH-USA 1800-02745”. Both sides of the safety selector have “RUGER” and “SAFE, FIRE”. The barrel is marked “243 WIN READ INSTRUCTION MANUAL BEFORE USING FIREARM”. Both sides of the stock have the Ruger logo and “RUGER”. The pistol grip is marked “RUGER”.
Barrel Length/tTwist: 26″ Threaded 5/8×24 w/Thread Protector.
Sights / Optics: There are no provisions for iron sights. The top of the receiver is fixed with an integral picatinny rail for optics. The handguard also has a full-length picatinny rail on the top for optics as well.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture on this rifle features a Samson Evolution series 15″ Key-Mod compatible handguard, a textured pistol grip, and a modular/adjustable folding buttstock, with adjustable comb, adjustable LOP, black rubber buttpad, and a bottom picatinny rail. The LOP measures 14 3/4″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad in its current configuration. The furniture shows light wear, with a few light dings in the handguard and buttstock. Overall, the furniture rates in Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore, but there is light fouling present. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9.75/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light wear, with a few light scratches and dings scattered throughout the metal surfaces, most notably on the barrel. Otherwise, the anodized finish is largely intact throughout. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp and the pins are unmarred. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: Ruger introduced the Precision Rifle line in 2015 as a highly adjustable, chassis-style bolt-action rifle intended to give shooters a factory rifle with many of the features commonly found on custom long-range builds. This 2015 Ruger Precision Rifle is chambered in .243 Winchester, a flat-shooting, mild-recoiling cartridge introduced in the 1950s and long appreciated for varmint, target, and medium-game applications. This example features a 26″ threaded barrel with 5/8×24 thread protector, integral receiver Picatinny rail, full-length top rail on the Samson Evolution 15″ Key-Mod handguard, textured pistol grip, and a modular folding buttstock with adjustable comb, adjustable length of pull, rubber buttpad, and bottom accessory rail.
This rifle remains in Very Good overall condition, retaining about 97% of its original black anodized finish. The bore is bright with sharp rifling, no erosion, and only light fouling present, rating 9.75/10 in this writer’s opinion. The metal shows light handling wear, with scattered light scratches and dings, most notably on the barrel, while the furniture shows only light wear with a few minor dings on the handguard and buttstock. The markings are clear, the screw heads are sharp, the pins are unmarred, and the action and safety function correctly. This rifle includes one 10-round Magpul PMag in Excellent condition.
