Our Assessment: This Winchester Model 21 Tournament Skeet is a highly desirable C&R side-by-side shotgun, manufactured in 1934 and configured in 20 gauge with 2 3/4″ chambers. The Model 21 is one of Winchester’s premier American double guns, and this example has several especially attractive features: Tournament Skeet marking, 26″ barrels, WS-1 and WS-2 skeet chokes, single selective trigger, ejectors, beavertail forend, straight grip stock, red front bead, silver center bead, and a practical 6 lb. 9 oz. weight. As a 20 gauge Tournament Skeet gun, it has strong appeal to Winchester collectors, American double-gun enthusiasts, and shooters looking for a classic small-gauge skeet configuration.

Condition is Good overall, with the metal being stronger than the wood. The shotgun retains about 90% of its original blued metal finish, with handling and operational wear, scattered scratches, and finish loss around the bottom of the receiver, which is noted as common for the Du-Lite receiver finish used during the period. The screw heads are sharp, the markings are clear, and the bores are excellent, rated 9/10, with bright surfaces, no erosion, and only light scratching in both bores. The stock, however, has been refinished and shows several detracting issues, including checkering repairs and overruns, mismatched sheen between the stock and forend, a recoil pad spacer at the top screw, a gouge at the toe, and scattered scratches and compression dents. The absence of cracks is favorable, but the wood condition limits collector-grade value.

Mechanically, the shotgun is reported to be functional, with the barrel selector and ejectors operating as intended. The safety and barrel selector are described as somewhat sticky from oil varnishing, which suggests the gun would benefit from a careful cleaning and inspection before use. Overall, this is a Good-condition Winchester Model 21 Tournament Skeet 20 gauge with strong configuration appeal, excellent bores, clear markings, original metal finish, and desirable skeet chokes. Its value is moderated by the refinished and imperfect stock, sticky controls, lack of box or accessories, and general handling wear, but it remains a significant and appealing Model 21 for either a collector-shooter or a Winchester double-gun enthusiast.
