Sights / Optics: The front sight is a post staked into the slide. The rear sight is an adjustable square notch roll pinned into the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are one piece checkered Pachmayr grips with Colt medallions. There is minimal handling wear on the grips. There are no chips or cracks. The grips are in Excellent Condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp with stubborn fouling present. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9.5/10.
Overall Condition: This firearm retains about 99% of its metal finish. The firearm shows very little operational and handling wear. There are only a few very minor blemishes present. The screw heads are unmarred and remain turnable. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this firearm is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This Colt Combat Target Model 1911 was manufactured in 1997 and represents one of Colt’s enhanced production Government Models from the late 1990s. Produced by Colt, the Combat Target series combined traditional 1911 styling with factory-installed performance upgrades intended for competitive and defensive shooting applications. By the late 1990s, Colt’s commercial 1911 line reflected refined machining and modernized features while retaining the classic Government Model profile.
Chambered in .45 Auto with a 5 inch barrel, this pistol maintains the time-tested pairing between the 1911 platform and the .45 ACP cartridge. The Combat Target configuration incorporates improved sights and trigger components for enhanced shootability. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9.5 out of 10, indicating excellent internal condition. The action functions correctly.
This firearm retains approximately 99 percent of its metal finish, presenting in very high condition. The grips rate in Excellent condition with minimal visible wear. Included are two 8 round Colt magazines, the original hard case, paperwork, and the serial-matching case sleeve. Overall, this firearm is in Excellent condition and stands as a well-preserved late-1990s Colt Combat Target Government Model complete with factory accessories.
