Action Type: Over Under Shotgun, with Single Selective Inertial Trigger, Ejectors, and non automatic resetting safety.
Markings: The left side of the upper barrel is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH / MADE IN JAPAN / MIROKU”. The left of the barrel lug is marked “INVECTOR PLUS”. The right of the top barrel is marked “CITORI SPECIAL STEEL 20GA-2 3/4″”. The inside of the forend iron is marked “25317” and the inside of the forend is stamped “BC 25317”. The top tang, under the lever, is marked with the serial number. The bottom of the receiver is marked “BROWNING 625 SPORTING”. The bottom of the trigger guard has a Browning logo. The monobloc is marked “44 25317ZY 28” and all the proofs.
Barrel Length: 28″ Ported with Vent Rib.
Choke: The barrels are threaded for Invector plus chokes. Currently installed with Browning Diamond grade Skeet / Skeet.
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a red fiber optic litepipe sight at the front of the barrel mounted on top of the vent rib. There is also a white mid bead.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture set is a two piece Grade III walnut set with a checkered Schnabel forend and a checkered right handed palm swelled close radius semi pistol grip stock with fluted straight comb and rubber butt pad. The length of pull is adjustable at the trigger shoe and is currently set to 15″. The drop at comb is 1.5″ the drop at heel is 2″. The shotgun weighs 7lbs 4oz. There are no chips or cracks. The wood shows some scattered very small compressions. There is a notable surface level line on the left flank of the stock. The butt pad shows some very minor rub marks. Overall the stock set is in Very Good+-Excellent condition.
Type of Finish: Blued and Coin with a gold toned trigger.
Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bores are mirror bright with no erosion. They show some plastic fouling and some minor lines from use. In this writer’s opinion the bores rate in 9.5/10.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. The monoblock shows only barely visible rub wear. The barrel set shows some barely visible handling. The trigger retains its finish. The upper tang shows some very minor rub wear from the safety. The markings are clear. The action is smooth. Overall this shotgun is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The shotgun features a single selective trigger and ejectors. The barrels lock up solidly. The safety and barrel selector functions correctly. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This shotgun includes the two chokes, manual, paperwork, accessories box, and factory box.
Our Assessment:. This Browning Citori 625 Sporting Grade III, manufactured in 2012, is a 20 gauge over/under featuring 28-inch barrels threaded for Invector-Plus choke tubes. The Citori line, produced by Miroku for Browning, is well known for its durability, balance, and long-standing reputation in competitive and recreational clay shooting. The 625 Sporting configuration is specifically tailored for sporting clays, offering handling characteristics and features suited to a wide variety of target presentations.
This example includes two Diamond Grade skeet choke tubes and is fitted with a red fiber optic front sight and mid bead for an easier to align sighting plane. The coin-finished receiver is tastefully engraved, adding a refined aesthetic to an already well-appointed shotgun.
