Markings: The left side of the upper barrel is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH / MADE IN JAPAN / MIROKU”. The left of the barrel lug is marked “INVECTOR PLUS 28″”. The right of the top barrel is marked “CITORI SPECIAL STEEL 20GA-2 3/4″”. The inside of the forend iron is marked “02473” and the inside of the forend is stamped “BE 02473”. The top tang, under the lever, is marked with the serial number. The bottom of the receiver is marked “525”. The bottom of the trigger guard has a Browning logo. The monobloc is marked “4 02473” and all the proofs.
Barrel Length: 28″ Ported with Vent Rib.
Choke: The barrels are threaded for Invector plus chokes. Currently installed with Browning Midas grade Improved Cylinder / Skeet. Also includes midas grade FULL, Improved Modified and Modified. 5 chokes total.
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a green fiber optic litepipe sight at the front of the barrel mounted on top of the vent rib. There is also a white mid bead.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture set is a two piece walnut set with a checkered Schnabel forend and a checkered right handed palm swelled close radius semi pistol grip stock with fluted straight comb and vented rubber butt pad. The length of pull is adjustable at the trigger shoe and is currently set to 13 5/8ths”. The drop at comb is 1.5″ the drop at heel is 2″. The shotgun weighs 7lbs 11oz. The cast is essentially neutral. There are no chips or cracks. The wood shows some scattered small compressions and some surface level lines. The butt pad shows some very minor rub marks. The pad is very soft and pliable. Overall the stock set is in Very Good+ condition.
Type of Finish: Blued and Coin with a gold toned trigger.
Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bores are mirror bright with no erosion. They show plastic fouling and some minor lines from use. In this writer’s opinion the bores rate in 9.25/10.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. The monoblock shows minor rub wear. The barrel set shows some very minor scattered marks with some rub wear from the forend that is concealed when assembled. The trigger has lost most of its finish. The upper tang shows some barely visible rub wear from the safety. The inside of the action shows some minor rub wear. The markings are clear. The action is smooth. Overall this shotgun is in about Very Good+ condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The shotgun features a single selective trigger and ejectors. The barrels lock up solidly. The safety and barrel selector functions correctly. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment:. This Browning Citori 525 Sporting, manufactured in 2004, is a 12 gauge over/under featuring 28-inch ported barrels with 2.75-inch chambers and Invector-Plus choke threading. Designed for sporting clays, the 525 Sporting model is known for its balance and durability, and this example includes Midas Grade choke tubes along with a LitePipe fiber optic front sight and mid bead for a higher visibility reference point.
The shotgun is fitted with a two-piece walnut furniture set, including a checkered Schnabel forend and a right-handed, palm-swelled, close-radius semi-pistol grip stock with a fluted straight comb and vented rubber butt pad. The grip in particular stands out, offering a very natural and comfortable feel in the hand that promotes consistent control and smooth mounting. Overall, it represents a well-configured sporting shotgun with desirable upgrades and excellent ergonomics suited for extended time on the range.
