Our Assessment: The Walther TPH is a compact pocket pistol developed as a successor to the earlier TPH concept from the Walther PP and PPK lineage, refined for ultra-compact carry. Imported by Interarms and produced in Germany during the 1970s, the TPH retained the classic Walther double action system with a fixed barrel blowback design, offering smooth operation in a very small frame. Chambered in .22 Long Rifle, the cartridge introduced in 1887, the pistol provides low recoil and economical shooting in a discreet, easily concealable platform.
This example was manufactured in 1974 and retains about 98 percent of its original blued and anodized finish with light handling wear, scattered scratches, and minor operational marks along with a plum tone developing on the trigger guard. The checkered plastic grip panels with Walther logos show light wear with minor marks on the smooth borders but remain in Fine Plus condition with no cracks or chips. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and light fouling present, rating 9 out of 10 in this writer’s opinion. The action functions correctly and the pistol includes two 6 round magazines along with its original box, test target, paperwork, and tool. Overall, this pistol presents as a high condition example of a German made Walther TPH pocket pistol. Please see our photos for a better understanding of condition and good luck with your bids! -N.P
