Markings: The right side of the receiver is marked, “F.M.A.P. “DM” ROSARIO / MADE IN ARGENTINA”. The left side of the receiver is marked, “F.S.L. cal. 7.62mm (L.S.R. 308 WIN) 02015.” There are various small station marks and proofs throughout. The lower is not matched to the receiver.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is an adjustable iron post within two protective ears. The rear sight is a sliding aperture dovetailed to the lower.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are a three piece black polymer set with a vented handguard w/ an attached bayonet mount and DSA bipod, polymer pistol grip, and dropped comb stock with hard rubber buttplate. There are light scratches and wear marks throughout. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 14.5″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. Overall the stock rates at about Very Good to Excellent condition. There is a free swiveling sling ring banded around the barrel in front of the gas block.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates at a 9.75/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. There are light handling marks throughout. The action has faint wear. The screw heads are sharp and the pins unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: This Argentine F.M.A.P. FAL Lightweight Semi-Auto Rifle represents a factory-produced civilian variant of the iconic FN FAL, manufactured at the Fabrica Militar de Armas Portatiles “Domingo Matheu” in Rosario. Argentine FAL rifles are highly regarded due to their licensed production and adherence to FN specifications, and pre-1989 imports are especially desirable due to later import restrictions. The LSR configuration retains the classic 21 inch barrel, adjustable gas system, and proven short-stroke piston operation that made the FAL one of the most widely adopted battle rifles of the Cold War. This rifle is chambered in 7.62×51 NATO, the cartridge introduced in the 1950s as a standard service round for NATO forces and widely used in battle rifles worldwide. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no visible erosion, earning a rating of 9.75 out of 10. The rifle retains approximately 99 percent of its original finish with only light handling marks visible. The polymer furniture set remains in Very Good to Excellent condition with minor wear and no structural issues, and includes a DSA bipod mounted to the handguard.
This rifle includes one twenty-round metric pattern steel magazine in Excellent condition. The lower is not matched to the receiver, which is not uncommon on surplus or assembled FAL variants. The screw heads remain sharp, the pins unmarred, and the markings are clear and well defined.
