Sights / Optics: No provision for iron sights. The top of the receiver is mounted with a Leupold VARI-X III 1.75X6″ scope with Duplex Crosshair Reticle. The sight picture is clear. The scope rates in Excellent condition.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is one piece checkered select Custom Grade Walnut with capped pistol grip, fluted straight comb, rubber buttpad, two sling platelets, and schnabel forend. The LOP measures approximately 13 5/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the rubber buttpad. There is virtually no wear or compression marks on the stock. There are no chips or cracks present. The walnut stock is in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish is strong and complete throughout. There is little to no handling or operational wear. The screw heads are sharp . The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in Excellent – Like New condition.
Mechanics: The action functions as intended. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Winchester Model 70 Custom High Grade represents a modern continuation of one of the most respected bolt action rifle designs ever produced. First introduced in 1936, the Model 70 earned its reputation as the “Rifleman’s Rifle” for its controlled round feed action, three position safety, and strong, reliable construction. This 2011 production example reflects the refined craftsmanship of Winchester’s modern Custom High Grade line, featuring select walnut, classic styling, controlled feed bolt, and attention to detail that echoes the pre-1964 heritage of the platform. The inclusion of a Leupold Vari-X III 1.75-6x scope complements the rifle’s intended role as a versatile hunting arm, capable of both close range and extended field use.
Chambered in .270 Winchester, the cartridge introduced in 1925 and long favored for its flat trajectory and effectiveness on medium to large game, this example retains approximately 99 percent of its original blued finish with virtually no visible wear. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no erosion, rating 10 out of 10. The custom grade walnut stock remains in excellent condition with crisp checkering and no structural issues, and the rifle includes its factory box, manual, and paperwork. With its high grade finish, classic configuration, and excellent overall condition, this Model 70 represents a refined example of a modern American sporting rifle built on a legendary action.
