Sights / Optics: The front sight is a post with a serrated face staked into the slide. The rear sight is a square-notch dovetailed into the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two piece checkered wood panels with Military Assistance Command insignias inlaid into the wood. There is light handling wear on the grips. There are no chips or cracks. The front of the grip is textured for a sure grip. The grips are in Very Good Condition.
Type of Finish: All stainless aside from the blued mainspring housing.
Finish Originality: Original aside from the top of the slide, which was bead blasted to reduce glare
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp with light fouling present. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9.5/10.
Overall Condition: This firearm retains about 98% of its metal finish. The ambi-safety, hammer, mainspring housing, and other miscellaneous small parts do not appear original. The firearm shows light operational and handling wear. There are light surface scratches and handling marks. The screw heads are faintly tooled and remain turnable. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this firearm is in Very Good Plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The trigger is light and breaks cleanly. The fit and finish is quite nice and will serve its next shooter well. We have not fired this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This custom Randall Service Model 1911 was produced between 1983 and 1985 and represents one of the early stainless steel 1911 pistols of the 1980s. Manufactured by Randall Firearms, Randall was notable for producing some of the first production stainless steel 1911-style pistols. The “C” prefix in the serial number indicates that the frame was machined by Caspian Arms, a respected name in 1911 frame manufacturing. This example has been further customized with several non-original components.
Chambered in .45 Auto with a 5 inch barrel, the pistol follows the traditional Government Model format. The pistol is stainless throughout aside from the blued mainspring housing. The ambidextrous safety, hammer, mainspring housing, and other miscellaneous small parts do not appear original. The grips are two-piece checkered wood panels with Military Assistance Command insignias inlaid into the wood. The front strap is textured for enhanced grip. There is light handling wear present on the grips with no chips or cracks observed. The grips rate in Very Good condition. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9.5 out of 10, indicating excellent internal condition. The action functions correctly.
This firearm retains approximately 98 percent of its metal finish, presenting a very clean and well-maintained appearance. Overall, this firearm rates in Very Good Plus condition and represents an interesting early stainless 1911 platform with custom features and Caspian-machined frame provenance.
