Markings: The top of the barrel is marked “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.”. The left side of the barrel is marked “1816– Indiana Sesquicentennial Commemorative–1966”. The left side of the frame features the Rampant Colt logo. The bottom of the frame is marked with the serial number “914IS”. The butt-strap has floral scroll engraving. The grip panels each have a gold colored Colt medallion. The right side of the barrel is marked “COLT SINGLE ACTION FRONTIER SCOUT .22 L.R.” The front of the ejector rod head is marked “COLT”.
Barrel Length: 4 3/4”
Sights/ Optics: The front sight is a quarter circle blade fixed by the muzzle. The rear sight is square-notch integral to the top-strap.
Stock Configuration & Condition/ Grip: The grip panels are two-piece Pearl-Lite Colt grips with Gold Colt medallions. There are no storage marks or signs of wear. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grip panels are in excellent condition.
Type of Finish: Gold plated cylinder, Hammer & Trigger. Gold anodized alloy trigger guard and backstrap. Blued barrel and anodized alloy frame.
Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright with well defined rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: The pistol retains about 98% of its metal finishes. There is slight thinning of the gold plating on the leading edges of the cylinder and hammer. There is no turn line on the cylinder. The markings remain clear. The screwheads retain strong slots and are serviceable. Overall, the pistol is in Fine condition as C&R.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder locks with light play on each chamber. The single-action trigger is crisp. We did not fire this revolver. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box Paperwork and Accessories: This pistol comes with its gold felt lined wood factory display box with “INDIANA SESQUECENTENNITAL” Seal.an image of the State and the Colt logo on the lid.

Produced during the height of Colt’s commemorative era in the 1960s, this Indiana Sesquicentennial model was issued in 1966 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Indiana statehood, marking its admission to the Union in 1816. With a limited production run of approximately 1,500 units, these commemoratives are sought after for their regional historical significance and attractive presentation.
This example features a distinctive and eye-catching finish combination, including a blued barrel, anodized alloy frame, and gold-plated cylinder, hammer, and trigger, along with a gold anodized trigger guard and backstrap.
