Markings: The right side of the barrel is marked “338 WIN MAG”. The left side of the receiver is marked “NOSLER M48 BEND, OREGON”. The right side of the receiver is marked with the serial number.
Barrel Length: 20″. 22″ with Radial Muzzle Brake. Threaded 1/2×24, Brake is Removable.
Sights / Optics: There are no provisions for iron sights. The top of the receiver is mounted with a one-piece Leupold picatinny rail for optics.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece textured composite stock, with a semi-pistol grip, fluted straight comb with cheekpiece, black rubber Nosler buttpad, and sling rings front and rear. There is a nylon/rubber sling attached to the stock. The LOP measures 13 1/2″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock shows no notable wear. The stock’s finish is intact throughout. The stock fits tightly to the barreled action, with no play. There are no chips or cracks. The barrel is free-floating all the way to the chamber. Overall, the stock rates in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light thinning of the finish on the muzzle brake, along with some light operational wear on the action. There are a few light scratches scattered throughout the metal surfaces. Otherwise, the finish is largely intact throughout. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. The trigger has a crisp and clean break. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Nosler Model 48 is a purpose-built American hunting rifle designed around Nosler’s proprietary action, combining controlled reliability with refined fit and finish. Produced in Bend, Oregon beginning in 2006, the M48 line quickly earned a reputation for rugged construction, crisp triggers, and practical field accuracy. Chambered in .338 Winchester Magnum, a cartridge introduced in 1958 and long favored for elk, moose, and large-bodied game, this rifle offers significant authority in a compact 20 inch configuration, extended to 22 inches with the removable radial muzzle brake for improved recoil management.
This example retains approximately 97 percent of its original FDE Cerakote finish, with only light thinning on the muzzle brake and minor operational wear on the action. The bore is bright with sharp rifling, rating 10 out of 10. The composite stock remains in Excellent condition with intact texturing, a solid fit to the action, and a fully free-floating barrel. Markings are clear and legible throughout, and the rifle is equipped with a one-piece Leupold Picatinny rail for optics. A compact, hard-hitting .338 built on a modern American action.
