Our Assessment: The Kimber Model 22 Classic is a finely executed American rimfire sporting rifle, produced during Kimber’s Yonkers, New York era when the company was building precision bolt actions with strong attention to fit, finish, and traditional styling. Designed as a high-quality smallbore sporter, the Kimber 22 blends classic walnut stock lines with a crisp bolt-action system and detachable magazine, making it a refined alternative to mass-market rimfire rifles of its time. Chambered in .22 Long Rifle, a cartridge introduced in 1887 and still the most widely used rimfire round in the world, the rifle is ideally suited for target shooting, training, and small game work, offering low recoil and excellent inherent accuracy.
This example remains in Excellent condition, retaining approximately 99 percent of its original matte blued finish with only minor hairline handling marks on the barrel. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and rates 10 out of 10. The walnut stock is equally strong, showing only the faintest signs of handling while maintaining crisp checkering and solid fit to the action. The Leupold Vari-X II 4-12x scope complements the rifle well and rates Fine to Excellent, and the inclusion of six factory 5-round magazines adds meaningful value and utility. Overall, this is a high-condition Kimber rimfire package from the desirable Yonkers production period.
