Our Assessment: The Ruger M77 Mark II All Weather is a rugged evolution of Bill Ruger’s controlled-round-feed bolt action, designed to deliver Mauser-style reliability in a modern American sporting rifle. Introduced in the early 1990s, the Mark II variant incorporated a non-rotating claw extractor, fixed blade ejector, and three-position safety, making it a favorite among hunters who value positive cartridge control in demanding conditions. Chambered in .30-06 Springfield, one of the most enduring and versatile sporting cartridges since its 1906 military adoption, this rifle offers a broad performance envelope suitable for nearly any North American big game pursuit.
This 1995 All Weather example remains in Excellent condition, retaining approximately 99 percent of its original stainless finish with no notable wear. The 22 inch stainless barrel has a bright bore with sharp rifling, rating 10 out of 10. The black synthetic Boat Paddle stock is clean and tight to the action, showing no chips or cracks, and maintains its distinctive serrated grip panels. The action cycles correctly, the safety functions as intended, and the rifle is equipped with factory stainless Ruger rings and a Butler Creek sling. A clean, purpose-built hunting rifle that reflects the durability and field-ready design Ruger intended.
