Markings: The top of the barrel is marked with Colt’s barrel address “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. Co. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.”, the left side is marked “COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45”. The left of the frame is marked “PAT. SEPT. 19, 1871 / JULY 2, 72 JAN. 19, 75” and with a rampant colt logo. The left side of the of the trigger guard is marked with the Colt “VP” verified proof mark. The bottom of the frame and the left of each portion of the grip frame are each marked “S41194A”. There is a partial matching serial number on the face of the cylinder of “194” and “45” on the rear of the cylinder. The inside of the grips are marked with electropencil with the matching serial number “194”.
Barrel Length: 4.75″
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a quarter-round blade fixed to the front of the barrel. The rear sight is a square notch at the rear of a groove in the top strap.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are a two-piece checkered hard rubber Eagle grips with no handling marks. There are no chips or cracks in the grips. Overall, the grips are in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is mirror bright and the rifling is sharp. This gun appears to have had very few rounds through it since factory testing. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 99% of its metal finish. All mechanical parts appear to be functioning properly. The base pin is very tight and we elected to leave it in rather than remove it. There are no handling marks on the finish. There is no turn line on the cylinder or any carbon residue. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions properly. We did not fire this revolver. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The Colt Single Action Army Third Generation represents Colt’s continued production of its most famous revolver design into the modern era while preserving the classic profile that made the Peacemaker legendary. Originally introduced in 1873, the Single Action Army quickly became one of the most influential revolvers in American history, serving military, law enforcement, and civilian users throughout the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Third Generation production began in the early 1970s and continued into modern production, with improvements in manufacturing consistency while maintaining traditional Colt styling and handling characteristics. This 2007 production example reflects Colt’s commitment to preserving its historic design legacy.
This revolver is in Excellent condition, retaining approximately 99% of its original blue and case hardened finish. There are no visible handling marks, no cylinder turn line, and no carbon residue present. The bore is mirror bright with sharp rifling and essentially shows minimal firing use since factory testing, rating 10 out of 10 in this writer’s opinion. The American Eagle style two-piece checkered hard rubber grips are in Excellent Like New condition with no chips, cracks, or handling wear. The base pin remains very tight, and mechanical components appear properly fitted and functional.
Mechanically, the action functions correctly with tight tolerances consistent with high-quality Colt craftsmanship. The revolver was not fired or extensively handled during inspection to preserve its high condition appearance. Included with this revolver are the Colt blue cardboard box, paperwork, and lock. This is a highly desirable Excellent condition Third Generation Single Action Army representing both collector appeal and classic Colt heritage.
