Markings: The right side of the receiver is marked “BERETTA Xcel XA259493 IT22”. The left side of the receiver is marked “A400 – Xcel – 12 GA MADE IN ITALY – PATENTED”. The Bolt Carrier Group is marked with some proofs and “XA259493 BLINK PB”. The right side of the barrel is marked “WARNING READ MANUAL BEFORE USE / BERETTA USA CORP. ACKK. MD / ALLOYED CR. MO. QUENCHED HIGH TENSILE STEEL”, “XB280492 IT22”. The left side of the barrel is marked “SPORTING BERETTA – GARDONE V.T.- MADE IN ITALY / OB HP 12 Ga. 76 mm for 2 3/4″-.3″-30″-18.6”. The bottom of the barrel “0521764 SL”.

Choke: This shotgun is cut for Beretta Optima HP Extended Chokes. Currently installed with Improved Cylinder, also includes Improved Modified and Modified. Three chokes total.
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a Large white bead affixed to the rib, there is also a small silver mid bead. The rib is finely checkered for reducing glare. The previous owner has added a magnetic fiber optic sight with options for green and orange to the rib.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture set is a two piece checkered walnut with ambi palm swelled semi-pistol grip, fluted straight comb, Kick-off shock absorber and rubber butt pad with a full finger shelf forend. The LOP measures 14.5″ from the front of the trigger to the rear of the butt pad. The current drop at comb is 1.5″ and the drop at heel is 2.25″. The cast is about neutral. The shotgun weighs 7lbs 9oz. The stock shows minor handling with one very small but notable compression on the left side of the comb about mid length. There are no chips or cracks. The kick off system functions correctly. Overall the Wood is in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The smooth bore is very bright. There is no visible erosion. There is plastic fouling and minor lines from use. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9.25/10.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 99% of its finish. The bolt and receiver show minor handling. The barrel shows one notable mark on the left side just in front of the chamber. The piston shows some carbon build up from use. The markings are clear and the pins are un-marred. Overall this shotgun is in about Very Good+-Excellent condition
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
