There is a nylon sling attached to the stock. The LOP measures 13 1/2″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock shows light handling wear, with only a few minor dings scattered throughout the stock. The stock fits tightly to the barreled action, with no play. The stock’s finish is intact throughout. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the stock rates in Very Good condition.

Type of Finish: Parkerized (Barrel, Receiver), Matte Blued (Bolt Handle/Body, Bottom Metal).

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 96% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light wear, with a few scratches and dings throughout the parkerized finish on the barrel and the receiver. The bolt and action show light finish wear, from operation. Otherwise, the finish is largely intact. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads range from tooled to sharp, but all retain strong and serviceable slots. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. The trigger has a light, crisp, and clean break. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with the scope base and the sling as mentioned above.

Our Assessment: The Remington Model 700 Police was developed as a heavy-duty variant of the long-established Model 700 platform, tailored for law enforcement and precision applications. Introduced in the late 1980s and produced through the 1990s in Ilion, New York, the 700 Police combined a heavy contour barrel, parkerized finish, and H-S Precision composite stock with aluminum bedding block. This September 1993 production example reflects the period when the 700P was gaining recognition as a precision-oriented rifle built on Remington’s proven action.

Chambered in .308 Winchester, this rifle is paired with one of the most widely respected cartridges in both law enforcement and precision shooting circles. Introduced in the 1950s, the .308 Winchester earned a reputation for inherent accuracy, manageable recoil, and consistent ballistic performance. The 24 inch heavy contour barrel complements the cartridge’s precision potential, while the H-S Precision stock provides a stable, repeatable bedded platform consistent with the rifle’s intended role.

This example presents in very good overall condition, retaining the majority of its original parkerized and matte blued finish with light operational and handling wear visible. The bore remains bright with sharp rifling, the action functions correctly, and the composite stock is structurally sound with only minor cosmetic impressions. With its scope base and sling included, this 1993 Remington 700 Police stands as a representative example of a 1990s-era precision rifle built on one of the most recognized bolt-action platforms in American firearms history.
