Sights / Optics: The front sight is a fixed A2 front sight post. The rear sight is a dual aperture adjustable integral to the clamp-on carry handle. The receiver is a flat top picatinny rail.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The buttstock is an M4 style adjustable. The pistol grip is an A2 style, the forend is a carbine length 2 piece fat clamshell with internal heat shield. The buttstock, handguard, and grip fit the frame tightly, with no play. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the furniture is in Excellent condition.
Magazine Quantity & Condition: This rifle comes with two 20-round aluminum magazines.

Bore Condition: The bore is mirror bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. This rifle does not appear to have been fired past the factory test. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its original metal finish. There is minor handling wear. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp, and the pins not marred. Overall, this rifle rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Colt M4 Carbine Model 6920 is one of the most recognizable civilian AR-15 pattern rifles produced by Colt Defense, closely mirroring the configuration of the military M4 service carbine. Built in Hartford, Connecticut and marked with the Colt Rampant Horse logo, this example also carries the “Restricted Military/Government/Law Enforcement/Export Use Only” rollmark associated with earlier Colt law enforcement production runs. The rifle features a 16 inch barrel with 1:7 twist and A2 flash hider, reflecting the classic M4 configuration widely adopted by military and law enforcement agencies. The metal surfaces retain approximately 98 percent of their original anodized finish with only minor handling wear visible, placing the rifle overall in Excellent condition.
Chambered in 5.56 NATO and compatible with .223 Remington ammunition, the Model 6920 follows the traditional direct impingement AR-15 operating system. The flat top receiver is fitted with a detachable carry handle featuring a dual aperture adjustable rear sight, while the front sight is the standard A2 fixed front sight post mounted to the gas block. The bore is mirror bright with sharp rifling and no visible erosion. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10 out of 10, and the rifle appears to have seen little use beyond factory testing.
The rifle is equipped with standard M4 style furniture including a collapsible buttstock, A2 pistol grip, and two piece carbine length clamshell handguard with internal heat shield. All components fit tightly with no play and show no cracks or chips, rating in Excellent condition. Mechanically, the action cycles properly and the safety operates as intended. This Colt 6920 stands as a well preserved example of the classic Colt law enforcement carbine configuration.
