Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “ANACONDA / * .44 MAGNUM * ” The right side of the barrel is marked “COLT’S MFG. HARTFORD, CT USA”. The right side of the frame is marked with the serial number “AC212903” and a QR code. –
Barrel Length: 6” Vent-Rib with Full Underlug with a recessed crown
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated, ramped blade pinned to the front of the rib with an orange insert. There is a red dot sight mount that is mounted to the rear top strap where the original adjustable sight was. The original rear sight is a square notch adjustable for windage and elevation IS included with the gun. The top of the barrel rib and the top strap have a matte finish to reduce glare.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two piece checkered rubber overmolded with moulded Colt medallions and a cobblestone texture. There is minimal light handling wear. The texture is well defined. There are no rips or tears. Overall, the grips are in Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is mirror bright and shiny and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. The balance of the stainless shows minimal operational wear. There is no turn line or carbon buildup on the cylinder. There are light handling marks and faint smudges on the frame and rib. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The lock-up on this revolver is solid, with light play when the trigger is depressed. The action functions correctly. We have not fired this revolver. This revolver has a wide target style hammer and a serrated trigger. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This revolver comes with its factory Colt case, owner’s manual, rear mounted red dot sight base and the original adjustable rear sight (uninstalled)
Our Assessment: The Colt Anaconda was originally introduced in 1990 as Colt’s entry into the large frame double action .44 Magnum market, remaining in intermittent production until 1999, with limited custom shop production continuing into 2003. Built on Colt’s MM frame, it was designed to compete with other premium .44 Magnum revolvers of the era and quickly developed a reputation for strength, smooth action, and refined fit and finish. Original production examples from the 1990s are no longer manufactured and have developed a strong following among collectors due to their relatively short production span.
After being discontinued for nearly two decades, the Anaconda was reintroduced in 2021 as part of Colt’s renewed focus on double action revolvers. The modern production version maintains the classic full underlug and vent rib profile but benefits from updated metallurgy, redesigned internal components, and improved manufacturing processes intended to enhance durability and consistency. This circa 2021 example represents that reintroduction period, blending the recognizable styling of the original with modern refinements suited to today’s shooters.
This revolver retains approximately 98 percent of its original stainless finish, showing only light handling marks and faint smudges, with no visible turn line or carbon buildup on the cylinder. The bore is mirror bright with sharp rifling, rating 10 out of 10 in this writer’s opinion, and the rubber overmolded grips remain in Fine condition. It includes the factory Colt case, owner’s manual, red dot sight base, and the original adjustable rear sight.
