Overall Condition: This slide and barrel show minor handling wear with a few light surface level lines and some minor rub wear on the barrel hood. The markings are clear and the pins unmarred. Overall this pistol is in Like New condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The pistol has an intentionally heavier double action pull and a crisp, short single action pull with an excellent re-set. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol includes a Camouflage HK zipper case, 2x 10 round magazines and 2x 12 round magazines all in Like New condition(4 mags total), manual, paperwork and sticker.
Our Assessment: The Heckler & Koch MK 23 is an iconic .45 ACP semi-automatic pistol developed for the U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) in the 1990s. Designed for extreme durability, reliability, and suppressed operation, it features an M16x1LH threaded barrel, making it compatible with the original Knight’s Armament suppressors. With four magazines and a production date from 1996, this example is highly desirable, especially in Like New condition. The MK 23 has always been relatively rare due to its limited production, as it was primarily made for military contracts, with only a fraction reaching the civilian market.
Beyond its military pedigree, the MK 23 gained widespread recognition through pop culture, prominently featured in films like Tears of the Sun and in video games such as the Metal Gear Solid and SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs series. Its large, intimidating profile, legendary reliability, and association with elite military units have cemented its status as one of the most recognizable and respected handguns ever produced. For collectors and enthusiasts alike, this well-preserved MK 23 represents both a functional powerhouse and a piece of military and pop culture history.
