Sights / Optics: The front sight is a Hi-Viz blade with a green fiber optic insert, it is pinned to a ramped base integral to the rib. The rear sight is a square notch S&W micrometer sight that is mounted on the topstrap. Under the rear sight, the topstrap is drilled and tapped. Also included is a blade front sight with a gold bead.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grip is a one-piece S&W monogram Hogue Monogrip pebble-textured black rubber stock that completely covers the grip frame with finger grooves. There are no major defects. There is light handling wear and the texturing is strong. Overall, the grip is in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright and the rifling is well defined. There is no erosion in the bore, but there is some stubborn fouling. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are some scattered minor scuffs and light handling marks. There is a thin turn line on the cylinder. The screw heads range from sharp to lightly tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in Fine-plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a serial matching case, the uninstalled sight, an additional muzzle brake, key for the internal locking system, cable lock, and paperwork including the manual.
Our Assessment: The S&W 460 is built on S&W’s largest frame, the X-Frame, which was developed because none of S&W’s existing double-action frame designs could handle the muzzle energy and pressures generated by the .500 S&W cartridge. The .460 S&W Magnum is essentially a longer and more powerful version of the .454 Casull, itself a lengthened and more powerful .45 Colt. Able to push a 200 grain bullet past 2,300 fps, the .460 S&W is not just one of the most powerful handguns in the world, it also fires at one of the highest velocities of any revolver in the world, allowing for unprecedented penetration when hunting with a revolver. This example has an 8 3/8? barrel with interchangeable muzzle brakes and hi-viz sight. The overall size is a little big for carry unless you are Arnold in his prime, but if you’re a handgun hunter it should provide for the precision you’ll need for longer shots and this revolver has the power to take any game you want in North America.
