Sights / Optics: The front sight is a Trijicon H3 Tritium insert blade with protective wings and the rear sight is a fully adjustable enlarged Ghost Ring aperture sight. The tritium still glows dimly in the original front sight post.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a synthetic rifle stock with checkered forend, checkered pistol grip, straight comb, oversized rubber butt pad, and a Fulton Armory picatinny rail / sling ring mount. The length of pull is 13.5” and the rifle weighs 8lbs 9OZ. The stock shows only minor surface level lines common with this type of stock finish. There are no chips or cracks. The butt pad shows almost no wear. Overall the stock set on this rifle is in Excellent+-Like New condition. This rifle also has the oversized bolt catch, a very nice upgrade.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. This rifle appears to have only been test fired at the factory. However the bore shows erosion, and pitting scattered throughout the entire length of the bore. This is something this writer has seen now on three other rifles from Springfield during this time frame. This may be the result of a bad round at the factory or perhaps being stored without being cleaned. The bore may just need a thorough cleaning to remove the fouling and apparent corrosion. In this writer’s opinion the Bore rates 5/10.
Overall Condition: With the exception of the bore this rifle appears in Like New condition. The piston is a Sadlak Industries TIN coated gas piston and it is perfectly clean. The feed ramps on the back of the barrel are perfectly clean. The bolt face is clean.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle includes one magazine, Springfield soft case, cable lock with keys and a sling.

The rifle is set in its factory synthetic stock, fitted with an oversized rubber butt pad to help tame recoil and maintain a solid shoulder weld. Mounted to the stock is a Sadlak Industries Picatinny bipod-mount and sling-ring combo, adding real versatility for supported shooting and sling use without altering the rifle’s classic silhouette. Altogether, this SOCOM 16 balances the iconic M1A feel with modern reliability upgrades, making it a compact, durable, and well-equipped .308 suited for both field and range applications.
