Our Assessment: The Browning Hi-Power is one of the most celebrated service pistols of the 20th century, and the T-Series models produced in the 1960s by FN Herstal are widely considered the pinnacle of this design. Finished in a deep, lustrous blue and known for their smooth action and high-quality fitment, T-Series Hi-Powers showcase the height of Belgian craftsmanship before cost-cutting changes began in the 1970s. This example features the rarer tangent rear sight graduated to 500 meters, along with a classic barleycorn front blade, making it reminiscent of early military-contract variants. With its “T” prefix serial number and pre-1970s Belgian proofs, this pistol qualifies as a Curio & Relic and holds significant collector value. This particular Hi-Power retains about 98% of its original polished blue finish with only faint high-edge wear and minimal handling marks. The bore is very bright with sharp rifling and little fouling, earning a 9.5/10 rating in this writer’s opinion. It’s fitted with attractive Herrett checkered wood grips in Excellent condition, and the original factory grips are also included and remain in Very Good+ condition. This pistol is mechanically sound, with a crisp single-action trigger and tight slide-to-frame fit. Accompanying this Hi-Power is an impressive suite of extras—ten 13-round magazines, two 21-round extended magazines, a leather holster, Handi-Racker, and range carry bag—making it both a collector’s gem and a practical shooter’s dream.
Whether you admire it for its Cold War history, mechanical pedigree, or elegant styling, this T-Series Browning Hi-Power represents one of the finest examples of postwar military and commercial sidearm design. With its original configuration, tangent sight assembly, and unmatched magazine set, this package offers tremendous appeal for FN and Browning collectors alike. -R.E.
