Our Assessment: Blaser’s R93, designed by Meinhard Zeh, and with a production run of over 200,000 units, stands as one of the most innovative hunting rifles of the late 20th century, built around a 60 degree straight-pull action that allowed faster cycling, a lower profile, and exceptional accuracy due to its unique barrel-to-receiver interface. This example, fitted as a two-barrel Weatherby Magnum set, represents the system at its most capable: a modular, precision-machined European hunting rifle equipped to cover everything from long-range antelope to large North American game. The engraved satin-nickel receiver with its moose, bear, and bighorn ram scenes, illustrates the level of artistry often paired with the R93 during this era, blending refined aesthetics with world-class engineering.

The .257 Weatherby Magnum and .300 Weatherby Magnum pairing gives this rifle a remarkable ballistic spread. Roy Weatherby’s .257, one of his personal favorites, is known for its high velocity, laser-flat trajectory, and exceptional long-range performance on lighter game. Meanwhile, the .300 Weatherby Magnum delivers deep penetration, heavy-bullet energy, and the extended reach demanded for elk, moose, and other large, tough animals. Both 24″ barrels remain in outstanding condition, with mirror-bright bores rated 10/10, and each is topped with an excellent Swarovski optic: a Habicht 3–10×42 on the .257 Wby. and a Habicht Nova 3–9×36 on the .300 Wby.; high-end glass fully worthy of the Blaser platform.

Cosmetically and mechanically, this set presents beautifully. Roughly 98% of the original finish remains across barrels and the receiver, with only minor handling wear. The walnut stock set shows scattered marks but retains sharp checkering, strong finish, and a tight, precise fit to the action. With its original aluminum fitted case, both internal magazine assemblies, both scopes, and all accessories, this is a complete, premium R93 kit, exactly the sort of ensemble sought after by serious hunters and collectors. A refined, powerful, and beautifully executed straight-pull rifle built for hunting, and high-grade performance. Please check out our high quality photos, and good luck on your bids! – J.D.
