Sights / Optics: All four barrels sets have a large white bead front sight with a smaller silver mid bead sight. All four barrel sets have fine checkering to reduce glare.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture set is a two piece high grade checkered walnut with a semi Beavertail full finger shelf forend, and a semi pistol grip, fluted straight comb stock with vented rubber butt pad and checkered stock cheeks. The length of pull is just shy of 14.5”. The drop at comb is 1.5” and the drop at heel is 1.5”. The shotgun weighs 8lbs 6oz with the 12 gauge barrel installed. The forend shows very light handling with a few small compressions. There are no chips or cracks. The stock shows scattered surface level lines and minor compressions. There are two notable lines on the belly near the toe and a compression on the left flank near the heel. The rubber butt pad has a stripped lower screw that will need to be replaced. There is a very small chip missing from the leading edge of the pommel. There are no visible cracks. The vented butt pad is semi rigid and shows wear from age and rubbing. Overall the furniture set is in Very Good+ condition.

Type of Finish: Blue

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: All eight bores are mirror bright showing no pitting or erosion. The 12 Gauge and 20 Gauge barrel sets show some very light lines from use and very minor plastic fouling in the forcing cones. The 410 and 28 gauge show only barely visible lines from use and barely visible plastic fouling. In this writer’s opinion the bores rate 10/10.

Overall Condition: The set retains about 95% of its metal finish. The inside of the forend shows some discoloration from storage and some minor surface rust around the front screw. The receiver shows some minor surface marks, with scattered surface level lines, finish loss and surface rust freckles on the trigger guard. The tang lever shows finish loss as well. The front of the trigger shows minor surface rust. The inside of the action shows some minor rub wear.

The 12 Gauge barrel set shows some very minor scattered marks, with some small nicks at the muzzle of the upper barrel. The barrels show rub wear from the forend that is concealed when assembled. The barrel blocks show light surface rust freckling, as does the rear right corner of the monobloc. The monobloc sides show very minor rub wear.

The 20 Gauge barrel set shows minor scattered marks with a minor rust freckling patch where the lower barrel goes through the middle block. The left side lower ejector has some very minor pitting on the face. The sides of the monobloc have some minor rub wear.

The 28 gauge set shows some minor scattered marks. The middle block shows some minor marks on the bottom. The edges of the rib show some minor marks. The barrel blocks show light surface rust freckling, as does the right rear corner of the monobloc. The barrels show rub wear from the forend that is concealed when assembled.  The monobloc sides show very minor rub wear.

The 410 barrel set shows minor scattered marks with a minor rust freckling patch where the lower barrel goes through the middle block. The left side lower ejector has some very minor pitting on the face. The sides of the monobloc have some minor rub wear.

All the white beads on the front sights have turned slightly yellow from age. All four barrel sets lock up tightly to the receiver with no play. The markings are clear and the screw heads are sharp. The receiver has the two hex head screws on the breach face indicating the shotgun was sent in for the upgrade. Overall this shotgun is in Very Good-Very Good+ condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The trigger is mechanically operated. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This shotgun includes the receiver with stock, the forend, four barrel sets, and a luggage style carrying case with keys.

Our Assessment: This Remington Model 3200 Competition Skeet Set is a complete four-barrel kit from 1980, featuring 27.5-inch barrels in 12, 20, 28, and .410, all with factory fixed Skeet chokes perfect for skeet matches with sub gauge categories. The barrel sets feature the desirable free-floating bottom barrel, one of the 3200’s major engineering improvements, ensuring consistent point of impact and reduced heat transfer during long strings of fire. The furniture is equally well executed, with a semi-beavertail forend incorporating a full finger shelf, paired with a semi-pistol-grip, fluted straight-comb stock fitted with a vented rubber pad. The checkered stock cheeks are a particularly refined detail, adding both grip and visual appeal to an already well-appointed skeet gun.

The Model 3200 traces its heritage back to the Remington Model 32 of the 1930s, a design admired for its sleek mechanical layout and the unique split-lump locking system that would later inspire the famed Krieghoff K-32 and then the K-80. When Remington revived the concept in the 1970s as the Model 3200, they strengthened the action, refined the trigger system, and introduced features tailored to serious clay shooters, including the free-floating bottom barrel seen here. This four-gauge set reflects the peak of 3200 production: robust, smooth, and purpose-built, offering a complete skeet package with the versatility and craftsmanship that made the 3200 a favorite among dedicated competitors.
