Our Assessment: This Beretta S686 Silver Pigeon is a distinguished over-under shotgun, representing premium craftsmanship and performance within Beretta’s prestigious 680 series. Known for its exquisite design and meticulous construction, this model is especially notable when paired with 20 and 28 gauge barrel sets. At its core, the S686 Silver Pigeon showcases Beretta’s commitment to quality. Handcrafted with precision, the shotgun features a finely fitted action and beautifully finished high-grade walnut stock. The inclusion of both 20 and 28 gauge barrels adds a level of versatility, allowing the shooter to switch between different gauges for various shooting disciplines or hunting scenarios. This flexibility does not compromise performance, making the 686 Silver Pigeon a practical choice for the discerning sportsman. The detailed scrollwork and floral patterns make each Silver Pigeon unique, adding to its allure and collectability. This level of craftsmanship elevates the shotgun to more than just a shooting tool; it becomes a legacy piece, reflecting the rich tradition of Italian gun-making. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the Beretta S686 Silver Pigeon delivers exceptional performance. Its low-profile receiver enhances handling and reduces recoil, ensuring a smooth shooting experience. The 20 gauge barrel set is well-suited for upland hunting and clay shooting, while the 28 gauge provides a lighter option for more specialized shooting activities.
