Our Assessment: This Swiss W+F Bern 1900/06 (often designated the 06/29) represents the final and most refined iteration of the Swiss military Luger lineage, designed for efficient wartime manufacture while maintaining the mechanical precision that characterized all Swiss service pistols. Produced in 1942, this example is one of the later wartime contract pistols built at the Waffenfabrik Bern arsenal. The 7.65mm (.30 Luger) chambering was favored by the Swiss for its mild recoil, accuracy, and flat trajectory, serving as the official sidearm cartridge of the Swiss military from 1900 through the postwar period.

This pistol remains in Very Good condition overall, retaining roughly 85% of its blue with holster wear and light operational scratches. The grips are Fine with crisp checkering and minimal marks, and the bore is bright with sharp rifling, rating 9/10 in this writer’s opinion. Mechanically, the action is tight and functions properly, the numbered parts are matching, and the included wood-based Swiss magazine and period holster complement it well. While the rear sight has been filed to a U-notch and the finish appears refinished, it remains a strong example of a Swiss 06/29 for collectors—precisely machined, reliable, and emblematic of the craftsmanship that defined Swiss small arms production. We are no longer offering layaway. Please see our photos and good luck with your bid! -N.P
