Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are a two-piece smooth walnut stock set, with a straight grip, straight comb, steel crescent buttplate, and a banded forend. The LOP measures 13 3/4″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The stocks show light wear, with only a few minor dings and handling marks present on both the buttstock and forend. The stock’s finish is strong throughout. The stocks fit tightly to the frame, with no play. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the stocks rate in Fine to Excellent condition.

Type of Finish: Blued

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows only minor handling marks and a few minor hairline scratches on the receiver. The bluing is deep and dark throughout. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp and the pins are unmarred. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine to Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the half-cock safety. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None.

Our Assessment: Browning’s Model B-92 is one of the finest modern recreations of the legendary Winchester 1892 ever produced, and this 1981 Miroku-made example captures the peak of that craftsmanship. Manufactured in Japan under Browning supervision, these rifles were built with tight tolerances, deep bluing, and excellent walnut fitment—reviving the spirit of the John Browning-designed ‘92 for a new generation of shooters. The solid-top receiver, smooth lever travel, and precise machining make the B-92 a pleasure to handle, offering both the nostalgia of the Old West and the reliability of modern metallurgy.

Chambered in .44 Remington Magnum, this rifle bridges the gap between revolver and carbine power, allowing shooters to fire either full-power magnum loads for hunting or lighter .44 Special cartridges for plinking. In a compact 20″ barrel, the round produces impressive velocity gains over its revolver counterparts, giving this lever gun real punch for deer, hogs, or steel silhouettes. The design’s simplicity, combined with Browning’s precision execution, has made the B-92 one of the most desirable modern pistol-caliber lever guns on the collector market.

This particular example presents beautifully, with about 98% of its original blued finish intact, a mirror-bright 10/10 bore, and tightly fitted walnut stocks showing only minor handling marks. The steel crescent buttplate and banded forend retain their sharp edges and smooth polish, reflecting both quality and care. Elegant, well-balanced, and built in limited numbers, the Browning B-92 remains one of the most faithful and functional tributes to the Winchester legacy—equally at home in the field or as a centerpiece of a lever-action collection.
