Markings: The top of the barrel is marked with Ruger’s Southport address. The left side of the barrel is marked “.375 H&H MAG..”. The left side of the receiver is marked with the serial number, and “RUGER MAGNUM”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade, pinned to an integral barrel ring. The rear sight is an express sight with two additional flip-up leaves, dovetailed to an integral quarter rib. The receiver is mounted with 1” Leupold rings for optics.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece checkered walnut, with a capped semi-pistol grip, fluted straight comb, rubber buttpad, black capped forend, and sling studs front and rear. The LOP measures 13 1/2″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock shows light wear, with a few scattered scratches and dings throughout. The cap on the forend does show some finish flaking away. The checkering is well defined. The stock fits the barreled action tightly, with no play. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the stock rates in Very Good condition. There is a leather sling attached to the rifle.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light wear, with some thinning finish on the friction portions of the action, and one spot of surface corrosion at the front of the barrel on the right side. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

It remains a favorite for large African & Alaskan dangerous game, and any other situation that requires a hard-hitting, reliable magnum cartridge.
This 2009 Ruger M77 Magnum presents very well and is mechanically complete. The action functions correctly and the safety operates as intended. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and shows no erosion; it rates 10/10 in this writer’s opinion. The metal surfaces retain approximately 95% of the original blued finish and show only light, service-related wear with scattered minor scratches and one small spot of surface corrosion at the front of the barrel. The one-piece checkered walnut stock fits the barreled action tightly and rates in Very Good condition, with only a few small scratches, dings and light finish flaking on the forend cap. All markings are clear and the screw heads are sharp. The stock comes with a leather sling attached.
Prospective buyers should appreciate that this rifle is essentially ready for field use. Overall, this Ruger M77 Magnum is an attractive, well-preserved example of a modern magnum hunting rifle chambered in one of the most respected dangerous-game cartridges.
