Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “USE ONLY / .416 WBY. MAG. / (WEATHERBY MAG.)”. The left side of the receiver is marked with patent numbers and “MARK V WEATHERBY / ATASCADERO, CA MADE IN U.S.A.”. The right side of the receiver is marked wit the serial number. The trigger guard is marked with the Weatherby “W”.
Barrel Length: 26”. 28” with radial muzzle brake.
Sights / Optics: There are no provisions for iron sights. The receiver is mounted with a Redfield 1 3/4-5x wide angle scope, with a post crosshair reticle. The glass in the scope is clear. The scope shows no notable wear, and rates in Excellent condition. The scope is mounted on a one-piece Weaver-style base, and sits in 1” UTG scope rings. The scope comes with Butler Creek brand flip-up scope covers.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one -piece checkered walnut stock, with a rosewood capped semi-pistol grip, fluted monte carlo comb with cheekpiece, ventilated rubber buttpad, a rosewood tipped forend, and sling studs front and rear. The LOP measures 13 1/2″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock shows light wear, with scattered dings and scratches throughout, most notably on the right side of the stock, just above the floorplate. The checkering is well defined. The stock fits the barreled action tightly, with no play. There are no structural chips or cracks. Overall, the stock rates in Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore, but there is some light fouling on the grooves. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9.5/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows no notable wear. The bluing is deep and dark throughout. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good to Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. The trigger has a crisp and clean break. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Weatherby Mark V in .416 Weatherby Magnum is a serious, high-performance dangerous-game rifle — designed for decisive stopping power where maximum terminal performance is required. With Weatherby’s robust Mark V action, a 26? barrel (28? with the radial muzzle brake) and Weatherby’s characteristic fit-and-finish, this rifle brings bench-stable accuracy and the strength to handle hard-kicking magnum cartridges reliably.
This example presents very well. The rifle retains about 99% of its original blued finish and shows only light, honest handling wear. The one-piece checkered walnut stock with rosewood caps is in Very Good condition and fits the action tightly. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and rates 9.5/10, indicating excellent accuracy potential. Markings are clear and screw heads are sharp.
Included optics are a Redfield 1¾–5× wide-angle — the glass is clear and the scope rates Excellent. It’s mounted on a one-piece Weaver-style base in 1? UTG rings and comes with Butler Creek flip-up covers, so the rifle is practically ready to hunt as offered.
Mechanically the action and safety functioned correctly during our inspection and the trigger breaks crisp and clean. In summary, this is a handsome, hard-hitting Mark V in a classic configuration, ready for serious big-game use or to serve as a fine addition to a collection of magnum rifles.
