Our Assessment
Anschütz’s Model 1771 is a compact precision sporting rifle that brings the company’s match-grade heritage to a handy varmint platform. Chambered in the .17 Hornady Hornet and finished on a German walnut sporter stock, this example is complete from the factory — rail, rings, magazine and paperwork — and presents as unissued, making it an excellent acquisition for the optics-ready varmint hunter or collector who values German workmanship and a crisp two-stage trigger.
The .17 Hornady Hornet offers flat trajectories and mild recoil when launched from a high-quality, properly crowned barrel such as this Anschütz. Paired with the included optic mounting hardware and the rifle’s inherent accuracy pedigree, the 1771 is well suited to precision small-game work and close-to-medium range varmint duty. This lot includes everything the buyer needs to outfit the rifle for the range. We are no longer offering layaway. KF
