Our Assessment:  This Remington Model 7600 chambered in .308 Winchester is a versatile pump-action rifle designed for hunters seeking speed, reliability, and accuracy. The .308 Winchester cartridge was introduced commercially in the early 1950s as a short-action, high-performance cartridge and, alongside the near-identical 7.62×51 NATO, has remained one of the most popular and versatile centerfire cartridges for hunting and target work worldwide. The rifle features a free-floating 18 1/2-inch barrel, which enhances accuracy, and its smooth pump-action mechanism allows for quick follow-up shots, making it particularly effective in fast-paced hunting scenarios.

This Remington Model 7600 presents as a well-kept, serviceable pump-action hunting rifle. The rifle retains approximately 97% of its original metal finish and the walnut stocks show light to moderate handling wear, placing the stock condition in the Good to Very Good range. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and rates 10/10, indicating excellent barrel condition for accuracy. The action and cross-bolt safety functioned correctly during our mechanical check and the single magazine and Vortex Viper PST 1–6×24 scope rate in Excellent condition. There is one small patch of surface corrosion on the left side of the barrel above the forend cap and some light operational wear on friction surfaces; a thorough cleaning and routine maintenance are recommended prior to regular use.

Renowned for its dependability and robust construction, the Remington Model 7600 in .308 Winchester is a trusted companion for hunters looking for a reliable and accurate rifle that excels in a variety of conditions. Please check out our high quality photos, and good luck on your bids! – J.D.
