Our Assessment: This Krupp Laustahl top-break combination gun is an intriguing late-19th/early-20th century European export-style drilling—an over/under single-shot layout pairing a 20-gauge smoothbore with a rifled .25-35 Winchester bore and fitted with a modern Leupold 1.5–5×20 scope. Visually it presents very well for age, retaining roughly 85% of its finish with only light handling wear, sharp screw heads and clear markings; stocks are sound and checkering remains crisp. The smoothbore and rifle bore both present bright with only minor fouling, and in this writer’s opinion the bores rate 9/10; the action locks solidly with no play and the scope sight picture is clear.

The .25-35 Winchester was introduced as a smokeless-powder deer cartridge for Winchester’s late 19th century rifles and is capable of flat, humane performance on medium game when loaded to appropriate pressures; paired here with a 20-gauge smoothbore it reflects the classic European/colonial “one gun for many fields” mentality that made combination guns useful for hunters traveling varied terrain. Overall condition and the excellent bores make this a very attractive, ready-to-service example once given a careful cleaning and inspection to your standards; the included Leupold scope adds immediate utility in the field.
