Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked with ”MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S. OF AMERICA / — WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL—-” “WINCHESTER / TRADE MARK ” logo and “MODEL—70 –.30 GOV’T.06–”. ” The left side of the receiver is marked “WINCHESTER” ®. The right side of the chamber is marked with the serial number “156181”. The bolt is unmarked, aside from an “N” proof. There are “WP” Winchester proof marks on the barrel and receiver. The rubber buttpad is marked “DECELERATOR”
Barrel Length: 24 Inches
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a hooded beaded blade sight fixed to the top of a serrated ramp. There is a dovetailed notch in the barrel for a rear iron sight but no sight is present. There is a Leupold VXII 3-9X40mm variable scope mounted to the top of the receiver with two-piece scope rings. The glass is clear and the scope has a duplex reticle
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a replacement, non-Winchester one-piece checkered Hardwood Walnut with a straight comb, Satin finish with a semi pistol grip, rubber buttpad, and two sling loops. As a replacement however, it is a beautiful stock in excellent condition. There are minor compression dings throughout. The LOP measures approximately 13 3/8 ” from the front of the trigger to the back of the rubber buttpad. There are no chips or cracks present.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and shiny and the rifling is sharp. There is some stubborn fouling present. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 8.5/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 90% of its refinishing. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in Fine condition as a C&R.
Mechanics: The action functions as intended. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

It is a highly desirable Pre-64 Model 70 in a caliber capable of taking most North American game.
