Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece, press-checkered laminate stock, with a semi-pistol grip, fluted raised comb, vented rubber buttpad, and sling studs front and rear. There is a sling attached to the stock. The LOP measures 13 5/8″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock shows light wear, with light dings, scratches and handling marks throughout. The checkering is well defined. The finish on the stock is strong throughout. The stock fits the barreled action tightly, with no play. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the stock rates in Good to Very Good condition.

Type of Finish: Blued

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light surface corrosion starting to form on the barrel, and corrosion and light pitting on the bolt. The action shows light operational wear on the friction surfaces. There is some thinning finish on the back of the bolt and on the bolt handle. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with the sling and scope mount as mentioned above.

Our Assessment: A compact, purpose-built centerfire from Remington’s short-barrel era: the Model 600 was introduced in the mid-1960s as a lightweight, fast-handling rifle platform, and only a small number of Magnum-chambered Model 600s were produced. The .350 Remington Magnum was introduced by Remington in 1965 as a high-velocity .35-caliber magnum developed to give the compact 600 Magnum serious big-game performance; the cartridge and the short-barrel magnum offerings are directly tied to that brief period of Remington experimentation with compact magnum hunting rifles.

This particular Model 600 in .350 Remington Magnum presents as a well-preserved example of that concept: the metal and bluing are largely strong with only light surface corrosion beginning to form in places and some light pitting on the bolt, the stock and checkering show normal handling wear and the fit of the barreled action is tight. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and the action and serviceability were noted in the mechanics section. Please check out our high quality photos, and good luck on your bids! – J.D.
