The LOP measures 13 1/2″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock shows light wear, with a few scattered scratches, dings, and pressure dents throughout. The checkering is well defined. The stock’s finish is strong throughout. The stock fits the barreled action tightly, with no play. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the stock rates in Fine condition.

Type of Finish: Blued

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows some operational wear on the bolt, and minor thinning finish at the muzzle. The bluing is deep and dark throughout. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. The trigger has a crisp and clean break. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None.

Our Assessment: The Schultz & Larsen M68DL is a superb example of Danish riflemaking — precise engineering, excellent fit-and-finish, and refined handling. Chambered in 7mm Remington Magnum with a 24?, 1:10? twist barrel, this rifle was built for hunting and delivers the ballistic performance and downrange authority expected from the 7mm Rem Mag. The M68DL’s smooth action, 60 degree bolt throw, and hinged floorplate provide a solid, reliable platform for serious field use.

This example presents extremely well. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and rates 10/10, which bodes very well for accuracy. The metal retains about 98% of its original blued finish with only minor operational wear (bolt wear and slight muzzle thinning), and the one-piece gloss checkered walnut stock with rosewood caps is attractive and snug to the action — overall stock condition rates Fine. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounts and is ready to accept optics.

Mechanically, the action and safety functioned correctly during our inspection and the trigger has a crisp, clean break. In summary, this is a beautifully made, accurate 7mm Rem Mag in an attractive condition grade; excellent bore and strong overall cosmetics make this a desirable hunting rifle or precision field piece.
