The bluing is deep and dark throughout. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the half-cock safety. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with the magazines and the scope as mentioned above.
Our Assessment: The Browning/Miroku BLR Lightweight ’81 is a sweet spot in modern lever-action design — fast-handling, magazine-fed, and built to take modern sporting cartridges without the compromises of traditional tube-mag lever guns. This 2003 BLR in 7mm-08 Remington pairs a handy 20? barrel and Grade-1 gloss walnut with practical modern features (detachable mags, Leupold-style mounting, and a compact profile) that make it an excellent do-it-all hunting rifle for brush, mountain work, or general field use.
Chambered in 7mm-08 Remington — a very efficient, flat-shooting short-action round that’s excellent on deer-class game and pleasant to shoot — the rifle is well matched to the cartridge’s capabilities. Condition-wise this example checks very well: the bore is bright with sharp rifling, metal finish is strong, the walnut stocks present in Very Good to Fine condition with tight fit and crisp checkering, and the action and half-cock safety functioned properly during inspection. The package is essentially turnkey: two factory 4-rd magazines and a Redfield 2–7× wide-angle scope (Very Good) are included and mounted in stout 1? rings.
Attractive, light-handling, and complete with magazines and optic, this BLR is a very capable hunting rifle ready for the field. Please check out our high quality photos, and good luck on your bids! – J.D.
