Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S. OF AMERICA / -WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL-”, “-WINCHESTER- / -TRADE MARK-”, “MODEL 94 – 25-35 WIN–8”TW.”. The top of the barrel at the receiver and the top of the receiver’s chamber ring are marked with ovalled “WP” proofs. The underside of the receiver is marked with the serial number.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a hooded bead blade dovetailed to a textured, ramped base fixed to the front of the barrel. The hood has been removed. The rear sight dovetail has been filled with a blank. The left side of the receiver is mounted with a Weaver scope 1” side rail fitted with a tasco 4×32 scope with a Duplex Crosshair Reticle. The sight picture is clear. The scope rates in Very Good condition.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece smooth walnut with banded forend, straight grip, straight comb and checkered Winchester synthetic buttplate. There is a sling swivel mounted to the belly and another banded to the magtube. The stocks have scattered nicks, scuffs and scratches. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 ½” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The plate has scattered wear and oxidation in its well defined checkering. Overall, the stocks are in about Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its metal finish. There is finish loss and thinning on the leading edges. There are scratches and scuffs. The action shows operational wear. The screw heads range from sharp to tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The rifle has a half-cock and a lever safety. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with its scope as mentioned above and its attached leather sling in Good condition.
Our Assessment: The Winchester Model 94 in .25-35 WCF occupies a special place in postwar production, reflecting the company’s continuation of classic chamberings even as newer sporting rounds gained favor. The .25-35 Winchester, introduced in 1895 alongside the .30-30, was designed as a mild-recoiling, high-velocity cartridge suitable for deer and varmints alike, offering a flat trajectory and excellent accuracy for its day. By 1951, when this carbine was produced, .25-35 rifles were already less common, giving examples like this one added collector appeal among enthusiasts of pre-1964 Winchesters.
This rifle remains in very good condition, retaining about 95% of its original finish with only light edge wear and scattered handling marks. The bore is bright and sharp, rating 9/10, and the action cycles smoothly with proper mechanical function. The factory stocks show honest field use with scattered nicks but no cracks or major defects, maintaining a pleasing, original character. The receiver is side-mounted with a Weaver rail carrying a Tasco 4×32 scope that presents a clear sight picture, reflecting a practical mid-century upgrade for hunting. With its solid condition, desirable pre-64 build quality, and rare chambering, this 1951 Winchester 94 carbine represents both a functional shooter and a collectible example of Winchester’s golden era craftsmanship.
